I first heard of this challenge from the self-improvement daily podcast. I was fascinated by the questions and decided to commit to doing this exercise for 30 days straight. started doing this in 2022, April and the practice are still going on.
I’ve always been a lover of journaling, but I’ve never done it for such a long time without missing a day. But for once, I was determined to complete at least 30 days with this practice, and yes I did!
Before we get into the challenge and what precisely you need to do, I want to stress how important it is that you do this for 30 days consistently.
Be consistent and committed if you’re serious about getting the most out of this challenge!
ALEX BANAYAN’S 30-DAY CHALLENGE
What do you need to know before taking a leap of faith?!
1. Answer 3 questions every day for 30 days, at the end of each day.
2. Do it pen to paper — not on your phone or tablet or computer.
3. Don’t skip a day.
If you skip a day, start from the beginning.
To not forget to do the exercise, I always put my notebook on my nightstand so if I’m getting ready for bed and I haven’t done the exercise yet — I’m reminded to do it!
It’s easy to forget if your notebook is hidden away somewhere in a drawer.
keep your journal at a visible place that you’re reminded each night to do your journaling!
The Three Questions
These are the 3 Questions that you need to answer every day. They’re reasonably simple, but you’ll be amazed how much you will get out of it. Most significantly, write until you leave everything on paper. Don’t hold yourself back, don’t worry if it makes sense or not just let it flow. Don’t hesitate, overthink, or analyze.
What filled me with enthusiasm today?
What drained me of energy today?
What did I learn about myself today?
My Journal experience so far with this 30 days challenge
When i first started, i was skeptical about myself and not so confident about finishing this successfully. but to my surprise i found this so amusing and drawn towards it. The challenge was so simple and helped me to declutter the mind and write everything on the paper.
The 30 days of this challenge was actually a revelation for me to know more about the things that filled me with enthusiasm. One thing drained me of energy was pending chores and trying so hard to be productive. This helped me to fix so many things about the way i handle things with work and home,
If you’re feeling to do this exercise, or if you’re just slightly curious, start today and do it! It will only take 10-15 minutes each evening, and you’ll be in awe of how many breakthroughs you’ll have.
